A parade of stars for “Romeo e Giulietta”

#HASHTAG, #TEATRO

A parade of stars at the Teatro Olimpico in Rome. Many famous faces, such as Alessio Boni, Benedetta Mazza, Giampaolo Letta and Chiara Giordano, filled the stalls of the theatre to watch the show Romeo e Giulietta, staged by the young people of L'Arte nel Cuore. “I believe in human beings” was the refrain with which the actors closed the curtain, a strong message underlining that talent has no barriers. Alex Pacifico, ambassador of L'Arte nel Cuore and host of the evening together with Valeria Graci, repeated it several times.

Daniela Alleruzzo, president of the Academy, could not hold back her tears during the closing words, faced with a true standing ovation that lasted almost 10 minutes with the whole Olimpico audience on its feet. She was not the only one with tears of joy: Pacifico and many of the young people's mums and dads also cried with happiness. Things like this are only seen at La Scala in Milan or at the Oscars for lifetime achievement awards.

The occasion also saw the official announcement of the first film performed entirely by the young people of the L'Arte nel Cuore Academy, entitled “Accanto a te”, a film in which they are the leading actors, while famous actors such as Paola Cortellesi, Claudia Gerini and Valerio Mastandrea appear as extras in a cameo. This too is a project unique in the world, which shows once again that where there is talent there are no barriers.
