To grow up, mature, learn to make choices and finally become a great king, a lion cub must overcome many trials. So the hero of our story will discover that enemies exist, he will be deceived, he will face pain, he will run away from guilt, he will learn to recognise his friends, he will find the courage to fight and finally he will take on the responsibility of becoming himself. The students of the school section of the “L'Arte nel Cuore” Academy bring to life a show that recalls the coming-of-age novels which told of the passage from youth to adulthood, ritualising the integration of adolescents into society. Our young people too, in preparing for the show, went through their own rite of transformation. As in the story, so in the various stages of the production, the enemy, the antagonist, the threshold guardian and the countless obstacles were a great and unique opportunity to overcome moments of impasse, and to meet and face emotions, desires, fears and inhibitions. Only after passing through the darkest, most hidden cave did the heroes of this story, that is our students, gain a different awareness and maturity. The theatre, dance, music and singing classes worked together with passion to create a single whole, in which everyone put their own specific qualities and talents at the service of the “common good”. As a school we firmly believe in the importance of bringing together the grace of the different disciplines, so that the beauty of the human being can blossom in all its colours.
